This Weekend!

Sorry for the last minute notice, friends, but we have a concert of IRISH MUSIC here at La Macchina Fissa this weekend - Saturday the 30th of May, 2026!

We are thrilled to host Éanna Drury and Aidan Connolly for a brilliant Uilleann pipes & fiddle duet!

This is probably our last concert in La Macchina Fissa, but not our last event. We still have two more weekends of Yard Sales and Garden Parties from NOON TO NINE scheduled for

Saturday and Sunday June 27th and 28th, and then again Saturday and Sunday July 25th and 26th. The first weekend was a huge success and loads of fun. Thanks to all who participated!

Nonprofit associations thrive on the shared generosity and teamwork of a community. I've never been ashamed to ask friends and members for help if I really need it to keep the association Reading Retreats in Rural Italy moving forward and thriving, and August is when I'd really appreciate your help:

Every Sunday of August (2, 9, 16, 23 and 30) we will be moving all we have to our new home, two hours away.

Again NOON TO NINE might be an accurate estimate of the time involved: We'll load up our cars and trucks until noon and then have lunch around 1PM at La Macchina Fissa before heading off to the new property (to be announced very soon - with a few photos and a new website, too). After unloading our vehicles there, we will sit down to a big meal on the patio in front of the barn and hayloft. Don't worry if it rains, we've got loads of space indoors - and a pizza oven!

Please let me know if you can come to the concert this weekend or any of the other events leading up to our departure. We'll all miss this place, but wait till you see where we're going!
