A Weekend Party with Plants, Books and Music!
Hello Friends of Reading Retreats in Rural Italy!
We are preparing for our second of three "Farewell to La Macchina Fissa" weekend parties - Saturday 27 and Sunday 28th of June, NOON TO NINE! You can stay a bit later if you want, but please don't come earlier unless you want to help moving tables and chairs and preparing food!
The first weekend was a great success, so the formula will remain the same- A book presentation will take place at 6 pm, followed by a picnic and... this time Live Music! With our friends from Slovenia, Anna Bukovec, violin and Jaka Pucihar, Piano.
It's for Members Only, and free all day. Come play badminton or croquet! If you stay for the concert (or to eat and drink) we ask for a 15 euro contribution to cover costs. Books and plants and a few things around the house will be for sale. It's a great way to keep a souvenir of our time here.
There will be some wine and delicious cocktails for adults and a fancy KIDS BAR (cold apple juice in white wine bottles, grape juice in red wine bottles). It's so hot out there... Everyone can drink up and not get drunk!
There will be plenty of food for vegetarians and omnivores. Bring some pocket change to buy books or plants and more money if you want a painting!
See you Saturday!

P.S. My friends from CasAntica published a wonderful article this month to celebrate the results of our decade of hard work and gardening at La Macchina fissa. It's written by Antonio Bianchi who has followed our association for many years and knows what we can do when we collaborate for art in all of its forms! Thank you Antonio.
